Did any of you see the International Space Station go across the night sky last night??? Went across around 10:05pm (CST). Then the Russian space shuttle could be seen following it. It was one of the coolest things I have seen. Not that I would have been able to tell what I was looking at, but good 'ole Dave Murray (meteorologist for Fox 2 in St. Louis) was kind enough to let us know! :o)
The Space Station itself was much larger and brighter than the shuttle, but they were both easy to point out since they were moving so quickly.
It was a really cool event...I wish I had equipment that I could have taken pictures, but there is no way I could have shot that with my piddly one.
Hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day!!!

Hey, I like your blog format.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even hear about the ISS going by. I'm sure it was a cool sight to see. Why didn't you call???? Oh, wait...I'd be in bed by 10. :o)
Hope you and the family are well. I heard the fireworks show was awesome!
If I had known that you didn't know about it, I would have called!!! (Even if you were in bed!) It was cool - just knowing what I was looking at. I can't even describe it!
ReplyDeleteWe are all doing very well! I was very proud of Timothy and his hard work on the fireworks display. Wish you could have been there. I'll call you all tonight to wish your beautiful wife a happy birthday!!!
Nice new blog format!
ReplyDeleteI bet that was cool to watch!
We had a pretty good Independence Day; hope you had a good one too!
There is a site, heavens-above.com, that tells you where you can see the ISS in the night sky on a given night... how bright it will be and how long it will be there. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteWow! Thanks for that website, Dewdrop!!
