At this station, I have already received 1.83" of rain in the past 36 hours. As I type this, it is still raining very heavily, and with the rain moving almost due east, you can see I have a lot more left to fall before it is over. My station has received much less rain than others in my area. A little to my south, there are reports of approximately 6 inches of rain!
Some of the river resorts in the Steelville area were beginning evacuation as of yesterday afternoon. The waters were starting to rise, and will get MUCH higher with the new rain as well as the high amounts of rain received up-river.
I will be sure to post pictures of any flooding I see. I'm bringing my camera to work with me today.

Dang, Ami! I noticed Rolla on TWC radar this morning and that it was about to get nailed. Are there strong winds or any other significance besides rain associated with this system?
ReplyDeleteThat's a wicked line of storms on radar. Did you receive any wind? We haven't had any wind to speak of, and lightning was minimal.
